The temporary Board of Directors and committee set up for the finalization of the constitution for Puntland NGO Network (PUNTNGO) meet at the Y-PEER HQ Office in Garowe on November 28, 2023. In this meeting, the committee set up for the finalization of the constitution for Puntland NGO Network (PUNTNGO) presented the final draft of the constitution to the members of the Board of Directors delegated by the members of the network on November 21, 2023, at the KAALO Office in Garowe to finalize the constitution and present it to the Board of Directors for approval.
The draft constitution was discussed article by article, added some vital inputs, and also modified some articles, such as the term of the Board of Directors, the terms, the election of the board by the General Assembly, and the Assembly’s meetings, which are set to be on a yearly basis. The discussion included the addition of new articles and terms to the constitution, such as the definition of the network’s logo, the causes by which the member organization can lose membership in the network, etc.
The Board of Directors asked the committee working on the finalization of the constitution to revise the constitution and bring the finalized version to the board’s meeting that is set to take place on December 1, 2023.
The meeting also included the nomination of the chairperson, vice chairperson, and secretariat of the board. The discussion also included the work plans for the launch event, which is set to take place on December 5, 2023, and the distribution of expenses among the members.
The board and other meeting participants appreciated Y-PEER for hosting the board’s meeting and also for their hospitality during the meeting.
