Puntland NGO Network (PUNTNGO) plans to provide targeted information, communication, technology, operational capacity building, and visibility support for 10 local nongovernmental organizations based in Puntland, Somalia, that are members of the network. The capacity building is intended for the emerging and less-capacitated local organizations that are led by or work for women, minorities, and people with special needs, with the objective of improving and strengthening the management, operational, and programmatic capacity and visibility of these organizations to deliver relevant, high-quality services on a sustained basis to accomplish their missions.
Puntland NGO Network (PUNTNGO) holds a meeting for 10 local organizations, namely SMWCDO, Autism Somalia Canter, WDF, KASDO, SHAADO, HRDC, Midnimo Women Network, WIMISOM, and PUWLA, in a meeting held at PUNTNGO’s office in Garowe. In this meeting, PUNTNGO congratulated these organizations for being the first recipients of the capacity building and briefed them about the contents of the capacity building, which will focus on: a) Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) Support; b) Organizational Operation and Management Policies and Tools Support; and c) Staff Training and Specialized Legal Assistance.
Forms and documents were distributed to these organizations to fill out within 3 days, starting from the day of the meeting, and after that, PUNTNGO will share the timeline of the capacity-building, which will show when the capacity-building team will visit each of these organizations in their respective offices to provide individualized capacity-building.
