The team coordinating the establishment of the Puntland NGO Network (PUNTNGO) organized a consultation meeting for NGOs in Puntland on establishment of Puntland NGO Network in a meeting held in Garowe at KAALO conference hall on November 21, 2023.
After hours of discussion among key issues such as the name for our network of NGOs in Puntland, finalization of draft bylaws and policies for PUNTNGO, planning for launching ceremony for PUNTNGO and finalization of membership registration process.
These are the key points of the consultation meeting:
- Puntland NGO Network (PUNTNGO) to be the official name for our network in Puntland
- Nominated a committee of five members to work on the finalization of the bylaws for six days starting today and bring them to the interim Board of Directors’ meeting scheduled to take place at Y-PEER’s conference hall in Garowe on November 28, 2023, for approval.
- The conclusion of our efforts to establish Puntland NGO Network (PUNTNGO) will be celebrated through a grand launching ceremony that is scheduled to take place on December 5, 2023. The members are encouraged to all attend the ceremony and witness the great success of our work toward establishing a network that represents the local nongovernment and nonprofit organizations in Puntland.
- 15 members are already registered on the PUNTNGO website with their names and logos are shown on the website. All members who didn’t register on the network are requested to register using the online form on the website or through this link: https://puntngo.org/join-us/
- All members in the meeting are requested to bring other NGOs who are not in the WhatsApp group to the WhatsApp group created for PUNTNGO members.
- The team that has been working on the establishment of the Puntland NGO Network (PUNTNGO) to act as interim board, work for finalization of the remaining process, and organize a General Assembly meeting within the next six months, so that they can elect the members of the Board of Directors in an open process.
In the conclusion, all participants in the meeting appreciated KAALO for hosting the consultation meeting and for their active role in the establishment of the Puntland NGO Network (PUNTNGO).
